Do Your Part to Save a Life: Donate Blood This Month

Posted on January 7, 2011 By Chasity (Edit) 1 Comment

red-cross Did you know that January is National Blood Donor Month? The winter season is when blood banks across the country are hit the hardest.

Things like inclement weather, traffic conditions, holiday travel are all issues that cause a shortage in donors. These are also the same issues that cause a rise in need for blood in hospitals and emergency treatment centers across the country.

You have the chance to help save a life by donating blood to any one of your local blood banks. You can also go a step further and sponsor your own blood drive in workplace, or local community.

Have you donated blood recently? Do you plan to? Let us know by leaving a comment or posting a message on the Fitzhugh Urban Flats Facebook page.
